Tyne Daly at Steepletop
Actors Tyne Daly, Roberta Maxwell, and Amanda Nichols will present a reading of Edna St. Vincent Millay’s work at 2:00 pm, followed by a wine reception, on Saturday, July 13th at the poet’s home, Steepletop, a National Historic Landmark at 440 East Hill Road in Austerlitz, New York. Before the program, the site will be open for self-guided tours of the house, gardens, and grounds, where docents will provide information and answer questions about Millay’s colorful life, her work, and the history of Steepletop.
Saturday, July 13, 2019
9:00 am: Steepletop opens for ticket sales.
10:00 am- 2:00 pm: Guests tour Millay’s house, gardens, and grounds.
2:00 pm: Actors Tyne Daly, Roberta Maxwell, and Amanda Nichols present a reading of Millay’s work, accompanied by musician Wendy Eisenberg, under a tent overlooking the gardens.
3:00-4:00 pm: Wine and cheese reception.
Tickets for the day are $50 per person, which includes all tours, the poetry reading, and the wine reception. Tickets may be purchased in advance by clicking on the icon to the right or at the door.
The Society's mission is to illuminate the life and writings of Edna St. Vincent Millay and to preserve and interpret the character of Steepletop, her home and gardens, places where nature inspires the creative spirit.
