Steepletop Open Days 2026
Open Days 2026 : Sunday, July 19
The Steepletop grounds and trails will be open to explore, as will the Gift Shop, and The Jackson Gallery in the Tamarack Visitors Center will feature the exhibition “Edna St. Vincent Millay: Life at Steepletop, 1925-1950.” This collection presents artifacts from Millay’s 25 years at Steepletop.
Docent-led 60-minute House tours are available at the times listed below. House tour tickets do not require advance purchase but are strictly limited. Purchasing these tickets in advance is strongly encouraged to secure your spot on a tour. Grounds and Picnic passes may be purchased in advance or on site on the days of the event.
House Tour Tickets: $25.00 per person. Includes tour and single-day access to grounds, exhibition, and special events.
Grounds and Picnic Pass: $10.00 per person. Includes single-day access to grounds, exhibition, and special events.
Consider bringing a friend (or two) and a picnic lunch. An event ticketing surcharge of 2.9% + $0.30 will be added to the total price of the tickets. Due to the very limited number of available tickets, purchases are non-refundable
Special Events (no additional charge)
Steepletop Extended Walking Tour Sunday. 1 pm
Millay Volunteer, Lora Woodward will lead you on a guided 120-minute grounds tour. The 2.5-mile walk covers relatively flat, rolling terrain and highlights some of Steepletop’s key landmarks, including Millay’s gravesite and the Hidden Meadow. Learn more about the landscape that Millay curated over her 25 years on the property while getting a chance to meet other visitors. Please wear sensible walking shoes.
Those interested in the tour should meet at the Tamarack Cottage Visitors Center prior to the walk start time listed above.
Live In-The-Moment Typewriter Poetry with The Sweet Slow in Millay’s Writing Cabin, 11 am – 4 pm
Jess Bowe of The Sweet Slow brings the art of live typewriter poetry to the Millay writing cabin, offering an intimate and enchanting experience where words are woven in-the-moment, inspired by a brief conversation, a single word, or a feeling shared by the recipient. Each poem is typed on cotton paper, becoming a one-of-a-kind keepsake—a tangible piece of poetry to hold onto, gift, or cherish forever.

Advanced ticket sales for the July dates will be available until midnight on Thursday July 16, 2026.
There will be a processing fee of 2.9% + $0.30 for each transaction added to the total.
All visitors will need to check in at the Tamarack Visitors Center upon arrival.
All tour ticket holders will need to check in at least 15 minutes before the start of the tour. Late admittance will not be guaranteed.
Any unsold tour tickets will be available at the Visitors Center for purchase.
