Special Events

Student Poetry Contest Awards Ceremony: 1 pm

An awards ceremony honoring the winners of the 2025 Edna St. Vincent Millay Regional Student Poetry Contest will officially kick off Steepletop’s Centennial Open Days. The three winning entries in each of the three age categories will be shared, and winners will receive their prizes. All Open Days guests are welcome to attend the ceremony.

Musical Performance
The Edna Project: 2 pm

Partners in marriage and music, Liz Queler and Seth Farber are both three-time Grammy nominees. They will be playing from The Edna Project, a collaboration by Liz and Seth that sets 21 poems by Edna St. Vincent Millay to music, including “Elegy Before Death,” “Keen,” “The Pond,” “The Little Hill,” “When the Year Grows Old,” “Song,” and “The Return from Town.”

The family band presents a unique sound and soul. Heavy on harmonies with influences from Appalachia, bluegrass, and gospel vocal blending, their music is infused with a rock sensibility, creating a soulful cross between Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Emmylou Harris, and John Mayer.

“An unforgettable pairing of exquisite poetry and music, melding folk, bluegrass, rock and jazz, with humor and great harmonies.” – Holly Peppe, Literary Executor, Edna St. Vincent Millay Society

The Edna Project will perform a 45-minute set under a tent near the Millay House. This will be The Edna Project’s second performance at Steepletop.
